About Ms. Karen Anand
KAREN ANAND has been described as “something of a food guru, influencing the way people eat and perceive good food” in India. In addition to writing extensively on the subject of food and wine for 30 years, Karen Anand has also set up a factory producing gourmet food products under her own brand, run a successful chain of food stores, had a niche catering business, anchored top rated TV shows, started a Gourmet Academy and has consulted for multinationals, International hotel and restaurant chains and F&B brands entering the Indian market. She works internationally and has contributed to restaurant projects in the UK, in particular the hugely successful Bombay café in London, ‘Dishoom’. Karen has worked with Team Work Arts for their festival India by the Bay in Hong Kong in January 2016. (See Link).
In 2006, she was awarded the prestigious Food & Spirit Award (Trophée de l’Esprit Alimentaire) for Culture from the French Government. She is the founder of the hugely successful Markets by Karen Anand, a wholefoods food and drink fair, which is now in 8 Indian cities. Relentless, she has returned to her first love, food and travel writing, a passion which takes her around the world, where she reports and reflects with depth, complexity and generosity… and with great style.
